Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt
IGGE
The “Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt” (IGGE) project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Government of Egypt, namely Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Environment and other relevant entities, thanks to the generous support of the Government of Switzerland (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) and the Government of Italy (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation). IGGE aims to contribute to Egypt’s efforts to foster a just transition to a more inclusive, green, and circular economy. IGGE and its partners from public and private sector, financial institutions, business and employment service providers, and civil society are driving market system changes to create a more favorable environment for businesses and the workforce in the green economy.
Through an integrated approach that simultaneously enhances private sector competitiveness, service offerings and regulatory framework, IGGE supports the growth and greening of key value chains and markets in sustainable agriculture and food production, waste management and valorization, and sustainable energy. To this end, IGGE provides specialized technical assistance and capacity-building coupled with linkages facilitation and networking support to green MSMEs, governmental and non-governmental business development service providers, banking and non-banking sector, and line Ministries.
